    Enjoy a highly participatory gathering of contemplative music celebrating our new growth cycle. Singing together in a circle with acoustic instruments and light percussion, we find the collective voice, in harmony and rhythm. Participants may choose to join in, share a song, or simply listen.     Arco Rei Album Release Party

    Among the many accomplished musicians in Cosmic Butterflies [And A Bear], Jacqueline May is a standout multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. This weekend, we’re celebrating the her debut album: “a tiny place,” created by the incredible ensemble she orchestrated: arco rei.

    The Austin-based band, arco rei, will deliver their world premiere performance at the Radiance Golden Dome, in South Austin. Jacqueline is the evening’s artist extraordinaire, featuring her arco rei creations, and she will also perform cello in a set of songs by Cosmic Butterflies.

    Ancestral Medicine Song Circle

    Right on time for Day of the Dead, our band will host an Ancestral Medicine Song Circle. This will be an intimate song circle in honor of our ancestors, celebrating our departed loved ones. The event takes place on Friday night, Nov 1, 2019, in Austin, TX.

    Music will be highly participatory—your chance to sing along and share songs ancient and new. Cosmic Butterflies [And A Bear] will lead a traditional “circle singing” exercise, and then host an ancestral medicine song circle. Participants may choose to join in, share a song, or simply listen.

    On the full harvest moon, we co-facilitated a Sacred Sound Journey. This was a mystical event, meant to be, primed with fine instruments and excellent musicians, packed with an attentive audience, complete with yoga mats, pillows, and warm fuzzies all over!

    Hello Worlds!

    We are Cosmic Butterflies [And A Bear], the freshest band in the Live Music Capital of the Worlds. This Austin ensemble originated in a mysterious wave, with a mystical wind, lit up by a sacred fire, held by a firm earth.

    We are song carriers, driven by the inspiration we’re given. That’s why we say our songs are received, instead of written. We hold space for the music to work wonders, through the magic of being in sync, in rhythm, and in harmony. In this way, the music moves us, from the jam pad to our everyday existence.
