The band hails from Austin, Texas, a city known as “The Live Music Capital of the World.” Here, the live music we enjoy most is the countryside music jam by the moonlight. This is the intimate instance when we witness the truth of music’s harmonizing power. This is where we find far out songs for the journey Home. We hear colors. We see sounds. It’s magic like that.
WHAT MAKES OUR SONGS Interesting?
We label our songs “ecstatic” for a reason. The way they flow through us is elemental. It moves us in a natural way, grounding our footsteps while granting us wings. Our listeners can experience this sensation first-hand, by grabbing a maraca or adding a voice to the mix. We intend for our songs to be sung by anyone, openly and freely. Feel the ripples. Feel the rush. Feel the energy as it moves.
In the bigger picture, we classify our music in the psychedelic rock genre, and it also fits into the folk rock category. With over 100 songs in our collection, our songs brings a broad spectrum of music medicine, promoting health and well-being in body, heart, mind, and soul. These songs offer an inviting and engaging experience as the audience co-creates a soundscape that resonates deep within, while it also radiates out.

Cosmic Butterflies is an 8-piece band at its fullest, but it’s open to anyone who wishes to carry the songs. Our belief is that the true band leader is the Spirit that flows through each of us. The songs themselves are mystical gifts, divinely designed, for everyone to join in and enjoy.
Our creative space is vast and open, ready to welcome fellow artists to share the journey with us. Just as our debut album’s title track suggests, we send the “colors flying” on the canvas for the dreamers, the singers, the seekers—this music is made for the wild ones.
Cabe Lindsay, our charismatic frontman, leads the charge, and on stage and in the studio. He’s joined by a dream team that includes drummer David Nuss, bassist Shiloh Travis, and flutist Vic Wheeler. Our music includes the tremendous talents of violinists Tina Turner and Ana Zae, banjoist Melissa Gail Klein, keyboardist Rebecca Sterling, and vocalists Jacqueline May, Xavior Patterson, and the legendary Honey Harken.
